"The first communication is the silent language through the facial expressions and visual expressions. The eyes are the window of the soul", indicates Molina.

The artist identifies himself totally with the Cuban culture, the folklore, the vegetation and the wildlife that characterize his paintings. He is a creator whose Afrocuban roots are constantly reflected in his work. He paints with shining colors, like the ones he remembers of the Cuban noon: green, red and blue that dazzle the eye.

His orishas, guajiros and mulatas, whose torn eyes go beyond their faces and the transparency technique, that lets a glimpse behind the first plane, is the seal that identifies his work.

Molina’s interpretation of orishas, their sublime guajiros, their palms and flowers denote a romanticism in his creations that preserves the essence of the Cuban school.

Born in Havana, Cuba, Luis began to draw from the early age of 12. Painting the eyes and details of religious images in cold ceramics in a factory of Havana. This experience prompted him to study art. Molina initiated his training at the Academy of Art San Alejandro where he graduated in 1974.

Luis has exposed his paintings nationwide in Chicago, New York and Philadelphia, and internationally in Spain and Panama. His works have been published and they are part of important collections on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean.
